In-house Loan Guide
This guide explains everything about buying a used car on an in-house auto loan in Okinawa — how it works, how it differs from a regular loan, what screening looks at, and how to choose a model. If reading is a hassle, just consult us on LINE — it's free.
What is an in-house auto loan?
An in-house loan (in-house installment plan) is a system where our shop contracts the installment plan directly with you, without going through a credit company. Because we judge by our own criteria, customers who found it hard to pass a credit company's screening still have a chance to own a used car in Okinawa.
The one thing that actually changes is who does the screening. A credit-company loan applies nationwide rules to your credit record. With an in-house loan we deal with you directly and weigh your current work, where you live and what you can comfortably pay each month. It is not a system decided by your past alone — which is why an answer can differ here even after a no elsewhere. Totals, instalment counts and conditions vary by car and contract, and we always explain them before you sign.
How is an in-house loan different from a credit-company loan?
- Who screens: a credit company vs. our own shop.
- Criteria: uniform credit-history rules vs. our own flexible judgement of your current situation.
- Who it suits: those with stable credit vs. those anxious about screening, recently changed jobs, part-time/self-employed, or foreign / US-military-related customers.
The other difference is how short the line is between talking and driving away. When a credit company sits in the middle, every change or check adds time. Contracting directly with us means we can hear a change in your circumstances and reflect it in the plan on the spot. In exchange, the way interest and fees work differs from a credit-company loan. Which is better depends on your situation, so we lay both out and let you decide.
Who is an in-house loan for?
It's a strong option if you have failed screening before, recently changed jobs, work part-time or are self-employed, or are a foreign resident or US-military-related customer in Okinawa. A car is a daily necessity here, and we don't want screening worries to stop you from having one.
Conversely, if your credit record is comfortable and the lowest possible interest is your priority, a credit-company loan may suit you better. We do not assume an in-house loan is always the answer — if another route looks better for you, we will say so. In Okinawa a car is a precondition for daily life, so we would rather look at whether you can keep driving it comfortably than just get you into one.
What does the screening look at, and what do I need to prepare?
Nothing in particular is needed for a first consultation — just your budget and the car you want. When you move to a contract, we'll guide you individually on documents such as identification. We look at your current situation and ability to pay comfortably, not only the past.
A consultation is not an interrogation. What we ask about is what we need to build a plan: how you will use the car, your monthly budget, when you would like delivery. If you move ahead, we will tell you which documents — identification and the like — are needed. Requirements can vary with circumstances, so we spell out exactly what to prepare before anything proceeds.
How should I decide the deposit and the monthly payment?
We're flexible about down payments and set a monthly amount with no strain on your household. The number of payments is decided together, balancing your monthly burden and the total. We explain interest and fees, and the total, clearly before you sign.
When setting the monthly figure, do not look at the car payment alone. Fuel, voluntary insurance, tax, inspections and servicing all arrive whether you planned for them or not. We work out what is genuinely comfortable for you with those running costs included. A longer term lowers the monthly and raises the total; a shorter one does the reverse. Neither is right in the abstract — the right one is the one your life can carry.
How does owning a car change daily life in Okinawa?
Public transport is limited across much of Okinawa's main island, so a car is essential for commuting, shopping and family life. We serve Okinawa City, Naha, Urasoe, Ginowan, Uruma, Chatan and beyond, and deliver to remote islands and outside the prefecture.
In Okinawa, whether you have a car shapes how you work and how you live. Where buses are thin on the ground, the jobs you can take depend on it, as do school runs and the hospital trip you did not plan for. That is exactly why we do not want the story to end at a rejected application. Tell us where you stand, and we will start by looking for a shape that works.
Which model should I choose?
For families, minivans like Noah and Voxy are popular. For low running costs, fuel-efficient hybrids like Prius and Aqua are great. Light cars (kei) are ideal as a first car, and SUVs suit leisure and daily use alike. See our cars we handle and tell us your preference.
If you are stuck, picture an ordinary week. How many people do you carry, how far is each trip, how tight is your parking space? Choosing around the two or three biggest days of the year usually costs you comfort on the other 360. There is a model-by-model breakdown on the cars page. And if you simply like the look of one, that is a perfectly good reason too — we will check together whether it fits a payment you can live with.

How long it takes from first conversation to delivery depends on the car and on how the paperwork moves. If you are in a hurry, say so at the start and we will tighten the schedule where we can. After delivery we keep taking your calls — inspections, servicing, or anything that comes up. We treat the job as lasting for as long as you are driving the car, not ending at handover.
